13 April 1970, 9:07 pm, 334,325 kilometres from Earth.

Apollo 13 is the third manned mission to try to land on the Moon.

There is an explosion after 56 hours of flight...with terrible consequences. Loss of oxygen, water, heat, energy... From this moment on there is only one goal: to bring the crew safely back to Earth. The goal will be achieved thanks to the exemplary efforts and attitudes of the ground crews.

Apollo 13 illustrates true Excellence. While Apollo 11 (Man's first steps on the Moon) is still NASA greatest accomplishment, Apollo 13 was its finest hour. Individuals, leaders and teams gave the very best of themselves in the face of adversity. Fifteen themes of Excellence (ranging from learning from mistakes to creativity to empowerment to regular communication) are developed in the Excellence book that follows the 36-page, hyper-realistic comic strip.
